Job Description

JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Provides leadership and direction in the planning, studies, engineering, delivery, completions, commissioning and ramp-up of the projects to ensure the projects meet their delivery and schedule targets, financial targets and safety standards.

  • Primarily focused on project definition and estimation for process and operational projects progressing into study or execution (including construction), and strategic projects (across approvals, logistics, process, operations, sourcing, permitting, and systems) as required.

  • Particular emphasis being the Study Phase execution and overall Engineering Practice lead, managing a task force in the execution of multiple/concurrent Studies.

  • Support the GM – PMO & Engineering, and other Global/Regional PMO Leaders in the establishment of a Malaysia Center of Engineering Delivery in line with the PMO & Engineering Practice.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.

  • Post Graduate Studies

  • Malaysian PE registration 

  • Training or certification in project management or contract administration

  • Extensive relevant technical & commercial experience (20+ Years) with a combination of Tier 1 Engineering Practice and

  • Operational Experience at a metallurgical or chemical processing plant delivering positive step changes in performance.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills.

  • Seasoned engineer with previous experience in design, construction, commissioning & operations. 

  • management /supervision of multiple or large scale, multi-disciplinary projects

  • Strong network of contacts throughout the industry & is recognised as a leader. 

  • Fluent English including presentation skills

  • Expert knowledge and demonstrated application of effective engineering management systems and practice relating to resources, metallurgical, chemical facilities.

  • Ability to integrate with, and influence, research, operations and project personnel.

  • Strong project management skills of planning and executing projects, with effective change management practices.

  • Development and management of human resources
    Leadership skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage difficult customers in complex environments.

  • Ability to sustain self and others in a complex and ever evolving environment of competing priority and complexity

  • Ability to operate within a matrix structure (multiple or indiscernible lines of command)

  • Ability to take direction as well as provide it.
