Our client, a global leader in laboratory automation, robotics, precision instrumentation, and diagnostic solutions for the life sciences and healthcare industries, is seeking a Senior Motion Control Engineer to drive the development of advanced motion control systems for automated instruments and robotic platforms.
In this role, you will lead the design, optimization, and validation of motion control architectures, drive systems, and robotics solutions. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, provide technical leadership, and contribute to innovation initiatives that enhance product performance, reliability, and automation capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, evaluation, testing, and implementation of motion control and drive chain solutions.
Perform motor sizing, simulations, performance analysis, and system optimization.
Develop and improve robotics, automation, and control system architectures.
Provide technical leadership and guidance on motion control, robotics, and automation projects.
Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, and systems engineering teams to ensure seamless system integration.
Drive root cause analysis, technical problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Research emerging technologies and contribute to future product and platform development.
Mentor engineers and support engineering best practices, standards, and technical excellence.
Key Requirements
Degree in Robotics, Control, Electrical, Mechatronics, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
6+ years of experience in motion control, robotics, automation, or complex instrument development.
Proven experience designing and implementing motion control systems and drive chain solutions.
Strong knowledge of control theory, feedback systems, robotics, and automation technologies.
Proficiency in MATLAB and scripting/programming languages such as Python.
Experience with simulation, modeling, motor sizing, system optimization, and troubleshooting of electromechanical systems.
Exposure to regulated industries such as medical devices, diagnostics, life sciences, or similar high-tech environments is an advantage.
Strong technical leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
