A global energy company is looking for a Legal Manager. The selected candidate will oversee corporate governance, commercial legal matters, regulatory compliance, disputes, and international legal support. This is a hybrid role.

This company operates in the energy industry, focusing on the development of solar photovoltaic and battery energy storage projects. It supports the transition to sustainable energy through the delivery of large-scale renewable energy developments.

Responsibilities:

• Manage corporate governance records, statutory documents, registers, and filings
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements for energy projects and business transactions
• Advise on project development, real estate, procurement, and other commercial legal matters
• Handle disputes, claims, and litigation in coordination with external counsel
• Monitor regulatory developments and ensure compliance with applicable laws and internal policies
• Support international legal matters related to the company's expansion across Asia

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or above in law (Master's degree in law is a plus)
• Experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts
• Prior experience in handling corporate legal affairs, including litigation and dispute resolution (in coordination with external counsel is ideal)
• Understanding of Japanese laws and regulations
• Possess valid Attorney at Law (Bengoshi), Judicial Scrivener (Shiho-shoshi), or other relevant certifications
• Professional level Japanese; business level English

Preferred requirements:

• Experience in the renewable energy industry, real estate sector, or M&A transactions
