A rapidly growing technology company specializing in advanced testing, automation, and engineering solutions is seeking a Test & Calibration Engineer to join its team in Penang. The organization supports customers in the semiconductor, optical communication, and high-tech manufacturing industries by providing innovative test solutions, automation equipment, and engineering services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform setup, debugging, calibration, and validation of testing and automation equipment according to project requirements and schedules.

  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues in collaboration with Product Engineering teams.

  • Maintain accurate records of testing activities, validation results, and equipment configurations.

  • Conduct routine maintenance and ensure the reliability and optimal performance of testing equipment.

  • Support equipment acceptance, inspection, and validation activities for supplier-built systems.

  • Work closely with suppliers to address technical, quality, and performance-related issues and drive continuous improvement.

  • Utilize test instruments such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic tools for troubleshooting and validation activities.

  • Ensure all testing and validation processes are properly documented and comply with established standards.

  • Support engineering projects and other duties assigned by management.

     

Requirements.

  • SKM, Diploma, or Degree in Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Industrial Automation, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in automation equipment, testing systems, industrial machinery, or related engineering environments.

  • Experience in optical communication testing or equipment debugging is an added advantage.

  • Familiarity with automation equipment, mechanical transmission systems, and electrical control systems.

  • Basic understanding of PLC principles and automation controls.

  • Experience using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other electronic test instruments.

  • Ability to read and understand technical documents and electrical drawings.

  • Hands-on troubleshooting and debugging skills.

  • Ability to read technical documentation in English.

  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and highly responsible.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Comfortable working under pressure and when required to support urgent project timelines.

  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
