Our client is a growing Japanese manufacturer specializing in precision equipment and assembly solutions for the semiconductor industry. We are looking for experienced Quality Control Manager to lead the Quality function, establish robust quality systems and drive continuous improvement within their manufacturing operations. This role is an ideal for a hands-on quality professional with experience in a start-up manufacturing environment who is capable of building quality processes from the ground up while supporting business growth.

Key Responsibilities: -
Lead and manage the Quality Control team to ensure product quality throughout incoming, in-process, and final inspections.
Develop, implement, and continuously improve QC procedures, work instructions, inspection standards, and quality documentation.
Establish quality systems and inspection processes suitable for a start-up manufacturing environment.
Ensure products comply with customer specifications, semiconductor industry requirements, and applicable quality standards.
Monitor key quality performance indicators (KPIs) including defect rate, customer complaints, yield, first-pass yield (FPY), scrap rate, and cost of poor quality.
Lead investigations on customer complaints, internal quality issues, and supplier quality problems.
Work closely with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Procurement, and Supply Chain to resolve quality issues and improve manufacturing processes.
Support new product introduction (NPI), process validation, and qualification activities.
Ensure all measuring equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
Coordinate internal quality audits and support customer, certification, and supplier audits.
Participate in external audits including customer assessments and certification bodies.
Support implementation and maintenance of quality management systems such as ISO 9001.
Ensure compliance with cleanroom practices, contamination control, ESD requirements, and semiconductor customer expectations where required.
Manage non-conforming materials and ensure timely disposition.
Develop supplier quality monitoring and incoming quality inspection programs.
Prepare quality reports and present performance updates during management review meetings.
Coach, train, and develop QC Inspectors and Quality Engineers to enhance technical competency.
Promote a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Participate in Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma improvement initiatives.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management or a related discipline
Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance within precision manufacturing, semiconductor equipment, automation machinery, electronics or high precision assembly environments.
At least 2 years of experience leading or supervising a Quality team
Experience establishing or improving Quality Management Systems in a manufacturing environment
Good understanding of quality tools such as SPC, FMEA, MSA, Control Plan, PPAP, APQP, 8D and Root Cause Analysis
Experience handling customer complaints, supplier quality, internal audits and external quality audits
Knowledge of ISO 9001 is essential. Experience with ISO 13485 or IATF 16949 is an added advantage
Familiar with precision measuring equipment such as CMM, Vision Measurement Systems, Vernier Calipers, Micrometers and Height Gauges
Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
Strong leadership, communication, analytical and problem solving skills
Able to work independently in a fast paced and growing manufacturing environment
Mandarin speaking ability will be an added advantage
