Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with local accounting regulations, tax laws, and internal group guidelines
• Develop, implement, and communicate policies in line with headquarters' standards
• Drive process optimisation and efficiency across accounting and related functions
• Manage and develop the accounting team, ensuring clear roles, objectives, and performance appraisals
• Lead local accounting projects, including system implementations and upgrades
• Oversee accurate bookkeeping, general ledger maintenance, and timely period closings
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting to local authorities and internal stakeholders
• Support year-end audits, payroll processing, and effective tax management

Requirements:

• More than 5 years of relevant accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of Japan tax law, local GAAP, and IFRS
• Proficient in SAP FI, CO, COPA, BI; ideally HFM
• Possess a valid Certified Management Accountant or relevant accounting qualification
• Professional level Japanese ; fluent level written and verbal English
