Work with the Japan Country Manager (CM) to achieve overall excellence goal of each product
Have extensive daily interaction with the Tokyo associates to drive their performance and bi-weekly calls with the Korea team.
Drive the Japan deliverables of the weekly Quality Action Plan (QAP) meetings and sit in on the actual QAP with World Wide Business Operations (WWBO)
Drive product changes with the Tokyo team to improve each product pacing as well as Learning and Discovery experiences.
Ride along on each product to fix hot issues on site and monitor program excellence through partial ride along and travelers’ feedback. Train country managers through ride along
Ensure accuracy of travelers’ handbook & trip related materials: hour by hours, day by day itinerary, lasers, handbooks, novellas per calendar timelines.
Drive Sir Edmund Hillary (SEH) loyalty club members/Solo Woman recognition programs as implemented per guidelines
Implement Day in the life Program/ Grand Circle Foundation sites and develop / manage plans to achieve goals
Drive yearly Community Service Event for Japan.
Review tour member’s surveys and create actions based on feedback
Support regional operation as ensuring 24/7 coverage
Develop a strong organization within Japan and hold the CM and team accountable for their Excellence results.
Bridge the gap between the Japanese cultural way of working and the American one to maximize productivity and excellence
Address the teamwork dynamic with the Japan associates to ensure they live the GCC value and move away from the US (Japan team) vs THEM (Regional, Boston) mind-set.
Drive the team to fully embrace the value of Thriving in Change and adopting the GCC attitude of making quick decisions and implementation rather than raising barriers to implementation.
Drive performance of the team to meet their goal and exemplify the other GCC Corporate Values. Submit performance ranking and reviews quarterly.
Support the CM and the Program Service Manager (PSM) to hire, train, schedule and coach Trip Leaders to meet GCC Standard and live the GCC Values on daily basis.
Drive Performance Management of Trip Leaders - focus on maximizing top performers
Submit 90-day roles and goals quarterly
Conduct weekly reviews with the CM and team to identify and address hot issues
Support Buyer to identify options for hotels to meet both COG’s and Excellence goal.
Join buying trip with Buyer and continue to build strong relationship with Hotels, ground operators vendors, to ensure smooth cooperation.
Manage ground operations budget and product costs
Support buyer with securing inventory (space) to reflect regional growth as required
Approve quarterly incentives for Trip Leaders and communicate issues to Supervisor
Drive regional team to ensure the accuracy of tour banks, per guidelines
Create the annual Budget plan; drive the operational cost to meet the plan.

University graduate in Leisure, Travel & Tourism
Fluent English & Japanese is a MUST
5 years’ experience of living and working in Japan
At least 2 years of tour operator experience with organizing tours for American clients (FITs or groups)
