Work that comprehensively supports tax services for employees who transfer globally and their overseas assets

We support, foreign-owned enterprises that look to make inroads into the Japanese market and domestic companies that look to expand overseas.

You will be required to prepare and file income tax returns and social insurance documentation for foreign nationals employed in client companies and foreign national employees temporarily assigned to their subsidiaries, etc., in Japan, handle their electronic filings and related consultations, respond to other various consultations across a wide range of fields, including gift and inheritance procedures for individuals who own assets overseas, and handle tax examinations, etc.

Overseas training and support systems that ensure fulfillment are also offered.  We also offer opportunities to build networks with member firms.



Annual salary plan: 3,500,000 yen to 5,000,000 yen + Full payment of overtime allowance + Year-end bonus

* Including allowances, etc., annual salary for the first year will be “4,000,000 yen or more.”
* 1/16 of annual salary will be paid each month, and a bonus equivalent to two months’ salary will be paid separately in June and December.
* Annual salary will be determined in consideration of experience and capability.
* Year-end bonus: 10% of annual salary in a case where achievement of performance target is 100%


[Specific Job Description]

  • Preparation of Japanese individual income tax returns for foreign nationals
  • Application of Japanese social insurance for foreign nationals
  • Coordination of individual income tax returns and social insurance documentation in countries around the world
  • Calculation of tax burden adjustment between companies and employees
  • Preparation of returns related to stock options and other equity compensation
  • Application of tax treaties
  • Handling of tax examinations related to individual income tax returns
  • Various advisory services related to the above

■■ Since our clients are foreign-owned enterprises, the environment allows for e-mails to be exchanged in English every day.  We offer telephone support in English and meetings with clients are held in English.

■■ Overtime work during the busy season (December to March) is 60 to 80 hours/month.  Overtime work during the quiet season is 10 to 20 hours/month.

■■ You will take charge of preparing about 20 individual income tax returns (for about 5 companies; 4 to 5 individuals per company).
There may be cases where 100 individual tax returns will need to be prepared for one company, however, a team will be assembled in those situations.



You will be assigned to the Global Mobility Service Tax Services Department.
Currently, five members belong to this Department.
At a mid-career recruitment rate of 100%, persons who have experience in residing/working in the U.S., UK, Taiwan, and New Zealand as well as senior associates from regional taxation bureaus actively collaborate in a professional environment.
This Department has the highest rate of growth within the Grant Thornton Taiyo Tax Corporation.
There will also be opportunities for temporary transfers or employment transfers to member firms overseas in the future.


Requirements for Applicants

  • Native or native level English speaker, conversational Japanese (N2 level or higher)
    (The following are preferable.)
  • A person who has experience/knowledge handling Japanese individual income tax returns
  • A person who has practical experience handling personnel/payroll accounting, etc.
  • A tax accountant (or a person who has passed accounting courses), U.S. CPA, Associate of the Chartered Accountants, etc.
