Rakuten is re-developing and upgrading our User Interfaces and overall website functionality in order for more users to experience “Shopping is Entertainment” through the Top Page and all the features of Rakuten Ichiba. In response to Market Share expansion of Smart Devices, we are focusing on upgrading UI in relation to changes in users’ conduct on each device, and standardization of UI for not only Japanese sites, but also global sites. Thus, we are seeking qualified professionals who can plan User Experience strategy, define requirements, design / produce new sites and help improve existing sites in the multi-device and global environment.
Successful candidates will also identify issues through checking logs and user interviews, plan applicable features and content to resolve these issues, as well as design and lead development and upgrades of IA (Information Architecture) and UI.
Other duties include creating a standardized design platform (visual design, UI design, navigation design, etc.) and standardizing processes for design (developing specifications, guidelines, etc.) for the various websites and web services of Rakuten Ichiba, both in Japan and overseas.

Preferred Skills and Experience:
※ Candidates with no experience in planning or upgrading UX design for Websites, but have experience in designing ATM screens, electronic bulletin boards for online shopping malls, etc., are eligible to apply for this position.
