Customer Support Engineer Japan

Overall Purpose:
Manage and coordinate Mentice’s support activities to assigned customers and support Mentice’s sales staff in demos and customer events.

This position requires extensive traveling to customer sites and the ability to independently plan, schedule and track such trips and coordinate.

customer support activities to ultimately ensure continuous high quality support to and satisfaction by Mentice customers.

Candidate must be outgoing with an interest in meeting and conducting dialogues with both old and new clients. This position is a base for a carreer development for candidates with such desire to grow within the company.

Territory: Japan (possibly later additional territories in Asia)

  • End users / hospitals / skills centers / research facilities
  • Device Industry clients
  • Internal Sales

Reporting to:
Global Customer Service Manager

Major Activities & Responsibilities:

  • Email and Phone Support of End Users
  • In-field preventive maintenance: in accordance with maintenance schedule/ agreement with customer provide onsite preventative maintenance
  • In-field installation and delivery
  • In-field client training
  • Congress support: provide proactive and relevant congress support in all aspects
  • In-field service and repair: where needed/ requested provide on-site repair and troubleshooting
  • Complaints handling
  • Maintenance and support of sales demo and rental systems
  • Demonstrations: execution of relevant demonstrations to key prospects/ at roadshows with the aim to win customer confidence and consequently business
  • Event support: provide paid/ unpaid customer event support

In addition to the above main responsibilities, employee may be required to assist with the following tasks:

  • After sales regular calls to understand (and eventually assist) with system usage
  • Provide feedback to Mentice development department based on market developments and functionality
  • Management of the installations/ monitoring of customers nearing point of being off support (Admin)
  • Follow up and proposal to renew support (responsible Sales Manager)
  • Assist in planning and executing Customer User/ Focus Groups meetings (Product Manager)

Language Requirements:

  • Japanese
  • Good Proficiency in English required

Skills Required:

  • IT Troubleshooting Skills
  • Some Medical Knowledge, Medical Device Industry Knowledge, or Biomedical background
  • Basic technical skills

Salary:  5.4 million yen
