To develop and implement a sales plan that sees the company increasing sales per financial year.

Performance measured against – sales against budget, sales by market sector, sales by product, activity level, quotes against sales achieved, new accounts won, and competitor accounts won.

Essential Duties

  • Regional Sales and Marketing Plan – In conjunction with Sales and Marketing to develop and implement a plan for the Japanese market that sees sales growing by per financial year.
  • Expand and manage existing accounts in high value wide web, PCBA/SMT, high value PCB manufacture, narrow web printing such that the company is seen as the only choice for yield improvement.
  • Develop new accounts in existing sectors – High Value Wide Web Converting and Laminating, Accumulate data, testimonials and intelligence and feedback to HQ.
  • Develop new accounts in new sectors – Security Print, Automotive PCB, PCBA, High Technology PCB, Accumulate data, testimonials and intelligence and feedback to HQ.
  • Key OEM (original Equipment Manufacturers) sales in Wide Web, PCB and PCBA. Ensure that the major end users have identified the company as a preferred cleaning option within their product range, Accumulate data, testimonials and intelligence and feedback to HQ.
  • Distribution Channels – Identify, recruit and manage a range of non-exclusive distributors such for the Japanese market for the wide web, PCBA(SMT), printing and PCB.
  • Win against Competition - Work with global sales and marketing team to deliver campaigns to win increased business from Rayon in PCB, Unitech in PCBA and Japanese roller only manufactures in wide web sectors.

Marginal duties

  • Supporting Sales to Japanese Companies in Greater China, S.E. Asia and Korea – The Sales Manager should ensure that colleagues are aware of Japanese customers or target accounts, activities and plans within Greater China, SA.E. Asia and Korean markets. Promote our capabilities to the relevant customer contacts within Japan.
  • Marketing – Work with Sales and Marketing department to ensure that the company is seen by the major Japanese customers and industry associations as the leading developer and supplier of cleaning solutions (yield improvement) for industrial manufacturing and the best value. Identify high level decision makers and influencers at accounts such that we can arrange and run events that will enable the company to build strong relationships with these individuals.

Key Skills

  • Understands Japanese business culture and is able to operate within the culture whilst ensuring that company business needs come first.
  • Able to work and influence at all levels of customer organisations from technician to managing director.
  • Can work within a range of customer’ supply chains. Must be able to sell into more than one industry sector and one supply chain within a sector.
  • High standard of spoken and written Japanese is essential.
  • Good standard of spoken and written English is essential.
  • Experience of CRM such as Salesforce.
  • Good planning and efficient working skills.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Well practiced in sales processes and account management

Education/Equivalent Experience

  • At least 8 years successful B2B sales
  • Evidence of successful sales within capital equipment across multiple industries in Japan
  • Proven record of selling into and managing major blue-chip Japanese accounts
  • Proven track record of selling direct to end users
  • Undergraduate Engineering or Polymer Science Degree (mechanical, industrial, chemical, electrical engineering) not civil.
  • A detailed knowledge of at least one of our key market segments, high value wide web converting, printed and plastic electronics, PCBA (SMT) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Automotive SMT is beneficial
  • Experience of Sales Processes and Account Management.
