Client Overview:

This global pharmaceutical company develops and provides various medicines for an array of health concerns. Their mission is to help people live healthy lives and to serve the broad needs of the healthcare market from practitioners to patients, from clinics to hospitals.

Responsibilities:

Provides end-to-end category management support to the business,
Responsible for the vision, strategy and implementation for a specific subcategory or commodity within the Enterprise-wide R&D category. This includes business engagement, contracting, sourcing, supplier management, requisition to pay activities, and procurement strategy & enabling activities. The role may provide primary category oversight for a range of R&D categories and acting as a supplier management leader. You may also work with others subgroups within the company's R&D Procurement, supporting any of the R&D clinical development sub-categories.
 
Main Responsibilities:

  • Business Engagement

Managing the needs and expectations of the business to drive satisfaction while ensuring compliance to procurement standards and alignment with procurement strategies.

  • Category Strategy.

The vision, strategy and implementation plan for a specific category of spend that will effectively meet the needs of the Business and deliver the maximum value.

Demand Analysis, Supply Market Assessment, Commodity Inflation Management, Category Strategy Development, Category Strategy Implementation.  
 

  • Sourcing.

A disciplined approach for reducing total costs of externally purchased materials, goods and services and improving levels of quality, service and value to the business.

Sourcing Strategy & Approach to Market, Sourcing Documentation Creation, Sourcing Event Execution, Negotiation & Supplier Selection, Sourcing Implementation.  
 

  • Contracting.

Systematically and efficiently managing contract creation, approval, administration and compliance to maximize financial and operational performance and minimize risk.

  • Supplier Management.

Managing the interactions with the organizations that supply the goods and services to our company including relationship building, data review and analysis, performance management and development and improvement.

  • Requisition to Pay.

Integrated business process for creating requisitions, executing tactical buying, creating purchase orders, invoice receipt and payment processing.

  • Procurement Strategy & Enablement.

Develop and maintain the strategic direction for the procurement function, ensure alignment to strategic goals and standards, develop and manage our people and effectively manage the enabling tools and technology required across the function.

スキル・資格

<Requirements>

  • Minimum 3 years working experience in procurement or similar working experience
  • Successful supervisory/people management experience.
  • Open minded and willingness to learn
  • Business level English is required and Business level Japanese or Chinese
  • Excellent Communication skills

 
<Desired>

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) desirable.
  • Experience in the R&D category-related areas (e.g. pharmaceutical industry, drug development, etc.) desirable.
  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) certification from the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) preferred.
