About the position:

The Compliance Officer will be responsible for the country management of compliance training, recordkeeping, monitoring, and analytical functions involved with regulatory compliance, Anti Money Laundering (AML), and Counter Terrorist Financing (CTF).

The main duties include:

  • Management of Regulatory compliance across regional market footprint:

    • Conduct Risk Assessments and training;

    • Implement and manage record management, exam and audit, and MSB license registrations programs;

    • Resolve outstanding issues identified in Exams and Audits;

    • Assure appropriate officer coverage and business continuity; and

    • Report to Compliance Management on the status of regulatory compliance.

    • Handle regulatory reporting to local authorities.

  • Management of AML and CTF programs across regional market footprint:

    • Conduct Risk Assessments and training;

    • Implement and manage record management, exams and audits, MSB license registrations, and monitoring for suspicious activity;

    • Ability to dive into the details and develop greater understanding of how customer electronic footprint is used in the transaction monitoring and decision matrices.

    • Resolve outstanding issues identified in Exams and Audits;

    • Assure appropriate officer coverage and business continuity; and

    • Report to Compliance Management on the status of compliance.

    • Local liaison with the related authorities and file appropriate reporting.

  • Ensure compliance with Country laws, regulations, and Company policy and procedure.

  • Produce periodic management reports.

  • Determine course of action for cases of reputational risk.

  • Responsible for embedding a ‘Regulatory Compliance, AML, and CTF aware’ culture that is capable of identifying, managing and quantifying exposures.

  • Manage the compliance, AML, and CTF due diligence of new partners.

  • Involved, if any, in local partnership opportunities in compliance perspective.

  • Member of the Regional Compliance Committee.

スキル・資格

  • Graduate degree or compensating experience in compliance management role.

  • Previous Compliance Management experience of 2+ years.

  • Extensive understanding of Compliance Management within Japan and experienced in dealing with local regulatory bodies.

  • Team player adaptable to fast-paced and changing environment.

  • Ability to manage tight processes with accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Sense of urgency necessary to ensure customer transactions are reviewed promptly.

  • Highly disciplined person, self-motivated, and delivery focused.

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written in English and Japanese. Need to be able to handle non-face to face communication on a regular basis.

  • Excellent time management skills – Be able to organize and meet monthly, quarterly and annual deadlines for multiple licenses / regulatory request.

  • Must be able to work in a pressured and fast moving environment.

  • Must be able to work and liaise with peers and colleagues globally and overcome time zone and cultural differences.

  • Must be able to work in a small office environment and be willing to assist team members proactively.

  • Must be able to work in a face paced and ever changing evolving office environment Proficient in MS Office (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio).

  • Compliance related certifications such as CAMS or CRCM would be a definite asset
