The Regional Business Operations team, Japan Business Operations, Planning & Strategy (JBOPs), is aligned to the regional sales organization and is the primary business partner for Japan General Manager and Sales management and represents Japan leadership within APJ and Corporate executive forums and project teams and also in implementing initiatives within the Japan Region.

Under JBOPs, Commercial Operations team works as a central engine of Deal Management, collaboratively working with Field Sales, Deal Desk, Legal, Revenue and other functions, aiming to make our Field teams more productive by providing a consistent and reliable support serviceCommercial Operations Analyst provides proactive field facing support as a Deal Scoping advisor, engaging early on larger and complex software transactions. Partnering with sales team and stakeholders across the Company to develop pricing models and provide Sales Support on enterprise deals to meet the needs of Fortune 5000 customer base.

Sr. Commercial Operations Analyst reports to Sr. Manager of Commercial Operations under the Regional Business Operations Manager (BOM).


  • Be a great partner with Field Sales team on Deal Management and Order Management
  • Understand customer and/or partner needs and business background behind the deal, provide consultancy in deal structuring, give professional advices on business justification to Field Sales team to optimize deal structure and standardize complex deal condition minimizing a business risk.
  • Assist in the pricing and structuring of Enterprise Licensing Agreement (ELA) and Special Pricing Forms (SPF) on deal request and proposal
    Facilitate cross-functional partnerships for the improvement of sales cycle and deal management cycle, managing consistent end-to-end connectivity.
  • Provide support and deal management trainings to Field Sales team and help grow commercial acumen toward (Support Value-Selling)
    Timely & informative interaction with Field team, Deal Desk, Revenue, Finance and Legal team.
  • Support Regional Forecast management with Sales Operations team.
    Support Future Funnel management for Field Sales Managers.
  • Align and support Global/APJ project related to deal management tools(SFDC, Model-N etc.)


Required Experience:

  • BS/BA Required.
  • More than 8-10 years’ experience in Sales, Business Operations or Deal Desk function within a multinational company
  • More than 8-10 years’ experience within a IT industry (Preferred)
  • Understands/experienced with running Sales Operations in a business to business context including challenges and opportunities associated with account coverage, order management, discount management, ELA processing, etc.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
    Experience with CRM, DBMS, SFDC preferred
  • Attention to detail is critical especially in the transactional side of the role
  • The ability to develop in-depth knowledge of company operations, policies, and procedures; the role will be identified quickly as a “Go To” resource for the Field but should be considered an excuse for Field Sales not to be duly trained
  • Able to operate successfully in a rapidly changing, ambiguous and less defined environment
  • Outstanding time management, prioritization and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at once (flexible and self-sufficient)
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Native level Japanese and Business level English language skill
  • Sales Strategy Experience preferred. Understands/experienced in develop practical GTM strategy and coverage projects to effectively grow an organization from being focused on a single to multiple product families in an increasingly complex customer environment leveraging multiple channels
