Business Development Manager, Japan

The Business Development Manager, Japan's primary goal is to achieve new clients and partners to generate new revenue by identifying, developing, negotiating and closing business relationships in Japan. Also responsible for building strong relationships with potential clients and partners within and outside of the industry as well as educating them about the firms's mission in the industry. This position reports to the Managing Director of Japan.



Business Development Manager, Japan Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plans Company's business development strategy for Japanese market by working with Managing Director
  • Identifies potential clients/partners as well as decision makers within the client organization
  • Proposes potential business deals by contacting potential clients/partners
  • Explores and discovers new opportunities with potential or existing clients/partners
  • Screens potential business deals by analyzing strategies, requirements, and financials and internal priorities
  • Develops negotiating strategies by studying new deal with Company strategies and operations, examining risks and potentials, estimating clients/partners' needs and goals
  • Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements, developing and negotiating contracts, integrating requirements with engineers and operations
  • Identifies new ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements; tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments
  • Enhances and maintains the Company's reputation by keeping a good relationship with existing and potential clients and accomplishing different requests






Business Development Manager Skills and Qualifications:

  • BS in Business and 3-5 years of sales or marketing experience or equivalent. MBA is preferred
  • Experience engaging with clients and companies in financial service industries
  • Experience communicating with high-value clients
  • Experience closing deals with clients and companies
  • Trading experience with currencies and other companies
  • Presentation skills with PowerPoint or Keynote
  • Strong overall understanding of virtual currencies and industry
  • Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to effectively interact with coworkers at all levels of Kraken
  • A self-starter mentality with the ability to work well under pressure, thrive working under limited direction, and a strong sense of personal accountability and ownership
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint/ Keynote
