Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, analysis, coordination, and implementation of mechanical systems across construction projects.
You will apply your technical expertise in mechanical engineering, system design, and project delivery to develop safe, efficient, and reliable solutions that meet project requirements, applicable industry standards, and client expectations.
Responsibilities
Pre-Engineering Stage
Conduct site surveys and mechanical risk assessments, support preliminary engineering activities and test fits, and obtain budgetary pricing and lead-time information for major mechanical equipment from vendors.
Design and develop mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other associated building systems, in accordance with project requirements, applicable codes, industry standards, and energy-efficiency objectives.
Prepare detailed technical drawings, schematics, and specifications using CAD software, ensuring accuracy, code compliance, and coordination with other engineering disciplines.
Select and specify appropriate mechanical equipment, components, and materials based on project requirements, performance criteria, sustainability objectives, and budget considerations.
Engineering Design Phase
Develop tender and construction drawings and documentation, conduct value engineering, and support the end-customer approval process, including CFD analysis, acoustic and vibration studies, RFQ compliance, and EHS compliance.
Incorporate customer standards and technical requirements into design documentation and support the procurement of Owner-Furnished Equipment (OFE) for mechanical systems.
Manage and coordinate the vendor submittal and technical review process and support the evaluation and selection of mechanical contractors.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, vendors, contractors, and other project stakeholders to integrate mechanical systems into building designs and test fits.
Address technical challenges and ensure effective coordination between mechanical and other MEP systems.
Construction Phase
Prepare and issue drawing revisions as required, respond to Site Technical Queries (STQs), conduct site inspections, lead mechanical commissioning activities, and manage as-built drawings.
Develop, implement, and review Testing & Commissioning (T&C) plans, ensuring mechanical testing is carried out in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
Perform quality-control inspections of mechanical systems, equipment, and installations to verify compliance with approved designs, specifications, and applicable industry standards.
Manage and oversee mechanical engineering activities throughout construction, including schedule coordination, resource planning, budget considerations, and technical coordination to support successful project delivery.
Identify and resolve mechanical system issues during construction and commissioning, working with contractors, vendors, and other engineering disciplines as required.
Stay current with emerging technologies, industry developments, and mechanical engineering best practices, identifying opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
