本ポジションでは、分散システムおよびストレージ技術を中心としたバックエンド開発に重点を置いています。Redis、Apache HBase、次世代の分散データベースであるYugabyteDBなどをはじめとする分散データ基盤の設計・開発・運用に携わり、大規模環境における高いパフォーマンス、一貫性、耐障害性の実現を目指します。単なる機能開発にとどまらず、大規模な分散システムのアーキテクチャ設計や技術選定にも参画し、プラットフォームの長期的な進化に直接貢献できるポジションです。このような大規模な分散システムに携われる機会は、世界的に見ても非常に希少です。

業務詳細
- 大規模なデータストレージにおけるサーバーサイド機能および堅牢なデータ構造の設計・実装を担当します。特に、分散処理、耐障害性、スケーラビリティを重視します。
- ボトルネックを特定・改善し、高トラフィック環境でも安定したパフォーマンスを維持するとともに、システム特性の継続的な最適化を推進します。
- 分散データベースの利用を最適化し、メッセージングサービスおよび関連サービスにおけるストレージの中核機能を開発します。
- SREや他のバックエンドチームを含む部門横断的なチームと連携し、バックエンドサービス全体のデータ一貫性、信頼性、スケーラビリティ、可観測性の向上を推進します。
- 複数のデータセンター間でのActive-Active構成やNewSQLデータベースの導入など、次世代の分散ストレージに関する長期的なアーキテクチャ戦略の検討・立案・推進を行います。
- 障害対応、パフォーマンス低下、スケーリング上の問題など、本番環境で発生する課題に対して、根本原因の分析から再発防止策の実施まで主導します。
- CI/CDワークフロー、テストカバレッジ、システム監視の改善に向けた取り組みを推進します。
- チームや担当コンポーネントによっては、サービスの24時間365日の可用性を維持するため、オンコール対応を含む場合があります。

A Top IT Tech firm is growing and looking for a Backend Engineer for their distributed systems across the entire Platform. In this role you will be working with a dedicated team to help improves overall services across various domains. This is an opportunity to work on systems at a scale that are rare to see in Japan and work with other dedicated engineers in a collaborate results focused environment.

The focus is on the backend development with strong emphasis on distributed systems and storage technologies. You will be involved in the design, development, and operation of distributed data infrastructure such as Redis, Apache HBase, and next-generation distributed databases (YugabyteDB, etc.), ensuring high performance, consistency, and fault tolerance in large-scale environments. This position goes beyond mere feature development; you will directly impact the long-term evolution of the platform by participating in architecture design and technology selection for large-scale distributed systems. Opportunities to work with distributed systems of this scale are extremely rare globally.

Responsibilities:
- You will design and implement server-side functionalities and robust data structures for large-scale data storage, with a focus on distributed processing, fault tolerance, and scalability
- You will identify and improve bottlenecks to ensure stable performance even in high-traffic environments, and promote continuous optimization of system characteristics
- Optimizing the use of distributed databases, and developing storage-critical functions in messaging and related services
- You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including SREs and other backend teams, to drive improvements in data consistency, reliability, scalability, and observability across our entire backend service
- Long-term architectural strategy and consideration and promotion of next-generation distributed storage (e.g., multi-datacenter active-active configuration, NewSQL database integration, etc.)
- You will provide leadership services for addressing challenges in production environments (such as fault response, performance degradation, and scaling issues), from root cause analysis to recurrence prevention
- Promoting initiatives to improve CI/CD workflows, test coverage, and system monitoring
- Depending on the team and component, this may include on-call support to ensure 24/7 service availability

- なお、同社ではApache HBase、Redis、YugabyteDBを使用していますが、これらの技術を事前に使用した経験は必須ではありません

Required Skills:
- Fundamental knowledge of computer science, including algorithms, data structures, networks, and parallel processing
- Practical experience in server-side development (3 years or more)
- Team development experience
- A strong interest in distributed storage middleware and the ability to logically analyze the challenges in highly concurrent and distributed architectures (we use Apache HBase, Redis, and YugabyteDB, but prior experience with these technologies is not required)
- Experience in designing and implementing systems that take into account non-functional requirements such as performance, scalability, and availability, or an equivalent understanding
- English reading and writing skills for technical and cross-functional communication (business level not required)
