Bilingual AI Governance Leader at a global IT services company in Tokyo.

You will set up and lead the company's enterprise AI governance framework, making sure all AI, Generative AI, Machine Learning, automation and advanced analytics initiatives are aligned with business goals, regulations, security standards and ethical principles.

You will be the central authority for AI governance, risk management, compliance and policy across enterprise technology, infrastructure operations, service delivery, security, cloud and data analytics. You will work closely with executive leadership, architecture, legal, compliance, security and operations teams to make sure AI is deployed responsibly, securely and transparently while delivering business value.

Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain the enterprise AI governance strategy, policies, standards and operating model
- Define governance structures, decision forums, accountability and escalation processes
- Govern the full AI lifecycle from ideation to deployment, monitoring and retirement
- Lead AI risk assessments covering operational, security, compliance, legal, financial, reputational and model risk
- Define processes for model validation, approval and performance monitoring, with controls for explainability, auditability and traceability
- Partner with security, privacy, legal and compliance teams on regulatory compliance and audits
- Set data governance standards for data quality, lineage, ownership and bias control
- Define AI governance KPIs and review AI performance and business value
- Govern AI vendors and third-party solutions, including due diligence and risk assessment
- Chair AI Governance Boards and Risk Forums, report to executives and promote responsible AI company-wide

Employment: Permanent, full-time
Location: Central Tokyo (onsite)
Salary: Up to 15.5M JPY, based on experience

Must:
- Bachelor's degree in CS, IT, Data Science, Engineering, Law, Risk Management or related
- 12+ years in enterprise technology, governance, risk management, compliance, security, architecture or operational leadership
- 5+ years governing AI, analytics, automation, digital transformation or emerging technology programs
- Proven experience building enterprise governance frameworks, policies and operating models
- Experience in complex, multi-vendor, large-scale managed services or enterprise environments
- Understanding of AI, ML, GenAI, predictive analytics, intelligent automation and AIOps
- Knowledge of model risk management, data governance, data protection, security and privacy controls
- Strong executive communication and stakeholder management; experience leading governance boards or steering committees
- Japanese: Native, JLPT N1 or N2
- English: Fluent / business level
- Permission to work in Japan

Preferred:
- Governance, risk, compliance or AI governance certifications (e.g. AIGP, CRISC, CISA)
