Medical Advisor

Job Overview
The primary responsibility of the Medical Advisor is to develop a medical affairs plan for the assigned therapeutic area and product(s), and to execute the various medical activities outlined in the plan in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners. This role also involves communication and collaboration with global counterparts.
Therefore, the Medical Advisor is expected to possess:

Key Responsibilities
[Medical Strategy]
? Develop and execute a medical affairs plan aligned with medical strategy for the assigned therapeutic area/product.
? Collaborate with global teams and continuously provide input and feedback on global medical strategy development and execution.
[Scientific Insights]
? In collaboration with the MSL Manager, oversee scientific insight-gathering activities conducted by MSLs, analyze collected insights, and utilize them in medical activities and strategy development.
? Plan and lead scientific advisory meetings and other medical programs, incorporating scientific insights obtained from basic research and clinical experts into medical strategy.
[Medical Education Programs]
? Identify educational unmet needs within the therapeutic area and develop and implement medical education programs aligned with medical strategy.
[Evidence Generation]
? Identify evidence and data needs, and design, plan, and execute research and survey initiatives.
? Manage and follow investigator-initiated studies in accordance with relevant SOPs.
[Early Development Pipeline Products]
? Collect, analyze, and provide input on various medical and scientific information related to pipeline products when required.
? Provide strategic scientific and medical recommendations regarding development-stage products as needed.
[Internal Responsibilities]
? Partner with the MSL Manager to design and implement skill development plans for MSL team members and Medical Information team members.
? Review promotional materials from a medical and scientific perspective.
? Serve as a subject matter expert in the assigned therapeutic area and provide scientific and medical input to internal stakeholders.

Required Qualifications
[Education]
? MD, DDS, Pharmacist, Veterinarian, PhD in Pharmacy or Life Sciences, or
? Master's degree in a life science-related field with plans to pursue a doctoral degree.
[Experience]
? Minimum 2 years of clinical and/or research experience in the healthcare field.
? Experience publishing research in peer-reviewed scientific journals and/or presenting at scientific conferences.
? Knowledge and experience related to:
　o Pharmaceutical regulations in Japan
　o Reimbursement systems
　o Clinical research guidelines
? Strong scientific background with the ability to deeply understand scientific data.
? Ability to design, plan, and execute research projects under appropriate guidance and supervision.
? Ability to foster collaboration across teams.
? Ability to establish peer-to-peer relationships with scientific leaders based on scientific expertise.
? Demonstrated leadership capability to lead therapeutic area teams.

[Preferred Qualifications]
? 2+ years of clinical or research experience in a relevant therapeutic area.
? Relevant specialist certification, advanced scientific or public health degree, or postdoctoral research experience.
? Experience working in global environments and/or overseas clinical or research settings.
