Position Overview
The Manager – Store Engineering will be responsible for planning, optimizing, and developing material flow, warehouse infrastructure, and logistics processes within a manufacturing environment. The role will focus on improving existing warehouse operations while supporting new model launches, production requirements, facility planning, and future capacity expansion.
The position requires a strong understanding of industrial warehouse operations, material movement, facility/layout planning, production planning, and ERP/SAP systems.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and develop material flow, storage systems, warehouse processes, and infrastructure for new models and production requirements.
Analyze existing material movement and warehouse operations to improve material flow, truck turnaround time, manpower utilization, and overall productivity.
Conduct change-point studies and establish effective process flows for new model implementation and operational changes.
Plan and optimize warehouse areas, facilities, dock layouts, resources, and material handling requirements.
Coordinate material flow with production requirements to ensure smooth and synchronized operations.
Identify opportunities to prevent material accumulation, bottlenecks, and unnecessary movement within warehouse and production areas.
Support capacity and future expansion planning through volume studies, space assessment, and operational visualization.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse efficiency, resource utilization, and logistics productivity.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of industrial warehouse and stores operations
Experience in warehouse area and facility layout/design
Knowledge of material flow and storage system planning
Experience in production planning and coordination with production lines
Exposure to new model/new product implementation
Knowledge of capacity planning, volume studies, and resource planning
Understanding of truck movement, dock planning, and turnaround-time optimization
Experience with ERP/SAP or similar enterprise systems
Strong analytical and process improvement capabilities
Preferred Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should have 15–20 years of experience in stores, warehouse engineering, material planning, logistics, or material flow functions within a manufacturing environment. The candidate should have hands-on exposure to warehouse layout and facility planning, production-line material supply, new model implementation, process optimization, and capacity expansion projects.
Experience in a high-volume automotive or automotive component manufacturing environment would be particularly relevant considering the nature of material flow and new-model planning involved in the position
