A leading US-headquartered industrial machinery manufacturer is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support its growing operations in Penang, Malaysia. The organization is a global leader in blow molding technology, providing advanced blow molding machines, tooling solutions, aftermarket support, retrofits, training, and engineering services to customers worldwide.

As part of its global expansion strategy, the company has established its ASEAN hub in Penang to support the growing demand for advanced manufacturing solutions across the region. This role offers extensive regional and international exposure within a dynamic and technology-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and validate new machinery at customer sites.

• Assemble and install retrofit packages and aftermarket upgrades.

• Conduct machine testing and performance verification to ensure equipment meets operational requirements.

• Support machinery start-up and production launch activities.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and control system issues.

• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance to maximize equipment uptime.

• Respond promptly to customer service requests and equipment breakdowns.

• Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement effective corrective actions.

• Provide on-site technical support, training, and operating guidance to customers.

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professional service and communication.

• Coordinate with internal engineering teams to resolve complex technical issues.

• Prepare service reports, maintenance documentation, and project updates.

• Maintain service equipment and tools in proper working condition.

• Participate in technical training and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.

• Minimum 2 years of experience in field service, equipment maintenance, machinery troubleshooting, or industrial equipment support.

• Experience with blow molding equipment is highly preferred.

• Experience supporting manufacturing equipment, automation systems, or production machinery is advantageous.

• Strong knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic systems.

• Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, and electrical schematics.

• Hands-on experience with industrial equipment installation and repair.

• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities.

• Proficient in the use of manual and power tools.Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

• Possess a valid driving license.

• Willing to travel extensively across Southeast Asia and internationally (up to 90% travel).

• Flexible to work overtime and weekends when required.
