Company and Job Overview
Our client is a reputable manufacturer of household, personal hygiene, and cleaning products. This role is responsible for leading the formulation, development, and enhancement of detergent and cleaning solutions, including laboratory testing, product optimization, scale-up activities, and successful commercialization to meet market and business requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the formulation, development, and optimization of detergent and cleaning products to achieve targeted performance, quality, stability, and cost objectives

• Manage new product development and enhancement of existing products through laboratory testing, benchmarking, stability studies, and production scale-up activities

• Troubleshoot formulation, quality, and manufacturing issues, providing effective technical solutions to support continuous product improvement

• Evaluate and source raw materials, alternative ingredients, leveraging advanced knowledge of surfactants, enzymes, polymers, solvents, fragrances, and other functional ingredients

• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, regulatory, ISO, GMP, HACCP, Halal, and documentation requirements, including specifications, SOPs, and technical reports

• Collaborate closely with Production, QA/QC, Procurement, Packaging, and NPD teams to support commercialization, cost optimization, and technical project execution

   

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, or a related scientific field

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in R&D and formulation within the detergent, cleaning products, or related chemical manufacturing industry

• Proven expertise in detergent formulation and development, with the ability to independently design, optimize, and troubleshoot product formulations

• Strong technical knowledge of key cleaning product ingredients, including surfactants, builders, polymers, enzymes, solvents, preservatives, and fragrances

• Practical experience in laboratory testing, raw material assessment, stability studies, product benchmarking, and formulation problem-solving

• Exposure to production scale-up, manufacturing trials, and product commercialization activities. 

• Experience with laundry care, dishwashing, surface cleaners, degreasers, or industrial and institutional cleaning products will be an added advantage
