[Legal Counsel] Newly Listed, High-Growth Deep-Tech Company

An exciting opportunity to join the legal team of a rapidly growing, publicly listed

technology company with expanding global operations. As Legal Counsel, you will support

both domestic and international legal matters, partnering closely with business stakeholders

to manage commercial contracts, mitigate legal risk, and strengthen legal governance. This

role offers broad exposure across corporate legal affairs, international business, and cutting-

edge technology within a collaborative, multinational environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide range of commercial agreements in both

Japanese and English.

• Provide timely legal advice and support to internal business teams on commercial and

corporate legal matters.

• Lead contract negotiations from initial drafting through execution.

• Coordinate and negotiate with external legal counsel on domestic and international

legal matters.

• Manage legal disputes, litigation, and other legal risk matters as required.

• Develop and deliver legal training programs to improve legal awareness across the

business.

• Support legal compliance, governance, and risk management initiatives.

• Contribute to legal matters relating to international operations, global expansion,

intellectual property, and other corporate legal projects.

Requirements

• Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts in both

Japanese and English.

• Proven experience managing contracts from negotiation through execution.

• In-house legal experience within a software, technology, or IT-related business.

• Experience supporting legal operations in a remote or hybrid working environment.

• Business-level English with the ability to communicate confidently in an international

environment.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to work

across multiple business functions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with licensing agreements and manufacturing-related commercial

contracts.

• Knowledge of J-SOX, internal controls, and corporate governance.

• Experience handling intellectual property matters.

• Understanding of Japanese Company Law and commercial regulations.

• Experience supporting businesses within the technology, data, or space industries.

• Legal qualifications (Attorney-at-Law, Business Law Certification, or equivalent) are

advantageous.

• Previous team leadership or management experience is a plus.
