Suspension Design Engineer

Ageo, Saitama, Japan (On-site)

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop leaf-spring and air-suspension systems from concept through virtual build
• Perform 3D modeling, system packaging, and validation of suspension systems for commercial vehicles
• Create detailed 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings with accurate GD&T and kinematic considerations using CREO and PLM/PDM systems
• Design and package front and rear suspension components, including control arms, springs, dampers, and stabilizer bars
• Conduct and interpret FEA and multi-body simulations to evaluate durability, stiffness, and vehicle dynamics
• Support prototype builds, field testing, and track testing, ensuring compliance with durability, NVH, and regulatory standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, purchasing, suppliers, manufacturing) to ensure Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design of suspension systems,
• Proficiency in business-level Japanese (N2+) and English (TOEIC 700+).
• Strong proficiency in CAD tools and experience with PLM/PDM tools
• Good understanding of FEA, vehicle dynamics, and multi-body simulations
• Experience in prototype validation, testing, and NVH analysis
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and design best practices (DFM/DFA)
• Experience with KOLA is a plus
