This role focuses on building and maintaining cost and usage data pipelines that enable financial transparency for a large-scale AI platform. You will collaborate with engineering and business stakeholders to design scalable data models and cost allocation frameworks that drive decision-making.

Description

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines for cost and usage data using tools such as Snowflake and Databricks
• Develop and improve cost allocation models for compute, storage, and shared overhead, ensuring alignment with cloud billing
• Create data warehouse schemas and API endpoints to enable cost visibility for internal stakeholders (FinOps, BizOps, engineering teams)
• Define and implement data quality standards, SLIs/SLOs, and monitoring for pipeline accuracy and freshness
• Partner with Cloud, FinOps, and business teams to translate budgeting and chargeback requirements into scalable data solutions
• Support broader data engineering initiatives, including general data ingestion and warehouse operations

• 5+ years of experience in software or data engineering using SQL and Python
• Hands-on experience building and operating production data pipelines
• Understanding of cloud billing data (AWS, GCP, or similar) and cost structures
• Experience with data modeling for financial reporting or cost allocation in modern data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake)
• Familiarity with FinOps concepts such as chargeback, tagging strategies, and cost optimization
• Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering and business units
• Business-level English communication skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, or BI tools (e.g., Power BI)
• Exposure to FinOps tooling and cloud cost optimization solutions
• Experience supporting AI/ML platforms or MLOps environments
• Background in multi-cloud or multi-tenant systems
• Japanese language skills
