【Position Overview】
The Certification Compliance and Safety role is responsible for ensuring that the site operates in full compliance with all applicable regulations permits legal requirements and internal compliance standards.

This is a newly created position to support the site operation team in ensuring full compliance with Japanese environmental legal certification and safety requirements. The role will serve as the primary point of contact for compliance related activities and will work closely with both local stakeholders and global certification teams.

【Key Responsibilities】
〇Certification Compliance
・ Ensure the facility remains fully compliant with all applicable laws regulations permits and internal policies
・ Maintain and update compliance related documentation and records
・ Support internal and external audits as required
・ Identify potential compliance risks and implement mitigation measures
・ Coordinate compliance activities with internal stakeholders
・ Establish and maintain a Compliance Matrix covering all applicable regulations
・ Monitor changes in Japanese laws and regulations and assess business impact
・ Liaise with government agencies regulatory authorities and external stakeholders
・ Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to aquaculture operations
〇ASC Certification Support
・ Support ASC certification implementation and future certification programs including ISO and other industry certifications
・ Work closely with the Global Certification and Compliance Lead on certification requirements
・ Coordinate certification activities between local operations and global certification teams
・ Assist in preparing documentation and processes required for certification
・ Ensure readiness for certification audits and ongoing compliance requirements
〇Safety Management
・ Map and track all applicable safety related legal requirements
・ Maintain up to date safety documentation and procedures
・ Develop contingency and emergency response plans
・ Support implementation of safety systems and compliance programs
・ Prepare required reports records and procedures to ensure safe operations
・ Conduct regular reviews of site safety compliance
・ Establish and maintain safety inspection routines
・ Monitor compliance with Japanese occupational health and safety regulations
・ Support continuous improvement of site safety practices

【Education Background】
・ Bachelor’s degree or above in a relevant field （e.g. Environmental Science Food Safety Compliance Engineering etc.）
【Experience】
・ Experience in compliance environmental regulation legal compliance certification or safety related roles
・ Experience dealing with Japanese regulatory frameworks and governmental authorities is highly preferred
・ Experience in manufacturing aquaculture food production environmental consulting or similar industries preferred
・ Experience with ASC certification is a strong plus but not mandatory
