Software Engineer Java/.NET

A Fortune 500 multi-channel retail group operating several well-known consumer brands across TV shopping, e-commerce, and social commerce. The group is a major player in its sector with a large-scale logistics operation supporting its Japan business.

The role
This Software Engineer role sits within the group's Japan logistics technology function, supporting the international division by developing and operating warehouse systems at the company's Chiba logistics base. You will contribute to supply chain efficiency by improving and optimising systems that connect directly to day-to-day warehouse operations.

Location: Chiba Prefecture, Japan (Hybrid, 1-2 days per week on-site, schedule fixed in advance company-wide)

Key Responsibilities

• Development, operation, and maintenance of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Warehouse Control Systems (WCS)
• Improvement and optimisation of supply chain and logistics-related systems
• Requirements definition and problem-solving in coordination with warehouse floor operations
• Response to system issues and implementation of improvement measures
• Analysis and reporting of operational data

• 5+ years of experience developing business applications (Java, .NET, or similar)
• Knowledge and hands-on experience across multiple programming languages and frameworks
• Strong understanding of application development methodologies
• Experience with data analysis using SQL (Oracle environment preferred)
• Valid standard driver's licence
