Company Overview
Our client is a premier engineering and environmental consultancy firm specializing in comprehensive water and wastewater treatment infrastructure. Dedicated to delivering sustainable and innovative engineering solutions, they manage complex projects from conceptual design through to commissioning for both municipal and industrial clients.  As they continue to drive growth and expansion, they are now seeking a Mechanical Manager to join their team and contribute to their ongoing success.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a senior technical specialist and lead mechanical design initiatives, working independently to apply advanced engineering techniques and problem-solving methods.

• Lead the concept, functional, preliminary, and detailed design of mechanical process systems for water and wastewater treatment plants, including screening, physical-chemical, biological, blower, odour control, disinfection, and sludge treatment plants.

• Develop concept, functional, preliminary, and detailed designs for various pumping systems and ancillary systems (e.g., chemical feed, mechanical ventilation, and drainage systems).

• Prepare General Arrangement drawings, equipment layout drawings, and detailed specifications for mechanical process equipment and pumps.

• Execute precise mechanical equipment and pipe sizing calculations.

• Review, evaluate, and approve vendor submissions.

• Coordinate seamlessly with other engineering disciplines, including civil, structural, electrical, building services, and instrumentation & control designers.

• Lead technical meetings and discussions with clients, contractors, and vendors.

• Provide comprehensive engineering support across multiple project phases, including bids and proposals, construction, and testing & commissioning.

• Develop and provide accurate project cost estimates to clients.

• Perform design and project management for proposals and projects where the scope is predominantly mechanical or process-driven.

Key Requirements

• Possess a recognized University Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

• 10 to 15 years of extensive experience in the mechanical design of municipal and industrial wastewater treatment facilities.

• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) with the Professional Engineers Board Singapore is highly advantageous.

• Proven ability to work independently to deliver high-quality project deliverables while meeting strict project timelines.

• Demonstrated leadership capabilities to guide and mentor a team of engineers, including conducting QA/QC work on their designs.

• Exceptional written and oral communication skills, coupled with strong interpersonal abilities to effectively engage with internal teams and external stakeholders.
