JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee the full operation of the powder coating department, including production planning, capacity management, delivery timelines, and cost control to ensure stable mass production of automotive metal components.

• Manage manpower, equipment, and materials within the workshop to maintain efficient and consistent output aligned with customer requirements.

• Optimize powder coating processes, including pre-treatment and curing, while ensuring compliance with strict quality standards such as coating thickness, adhesion, corrosion resistance, and surface finish.

• Lead troubleshooting and resolution of production issues to minimize downtime and maintain product quality.

• Supervise maintenance activities for coating lines, curing systems, and related equipment to ensure high equipment reliability and operational efficiency.

• Implement and uphold quality systems and operational standards, including IATF16949, lean practices, and safety and environmental compliance, while supporting customer audits and production validation processes.

• Drive team development through training and performance management, while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall workshop performance.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Possesses Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy Engineering, Chemistry or related field.

• Preferably with at least 5 years' experience in operation and process optimization of automated powder coating / surface treatment lines (high-volume, conveyorized, parameter-controlled systems).

• Familiar with coating performance requirements (i.e. adhesion, corrosion resistance etc.). 

• Knowledge in Automotive production standards (IATF / VDA) would be added advantage.

• Excellent leadership and problem-solving skills.
