Java Back-end Engineer (Online Travel Service (English-Only)

A Global IT Service firm is seeking a Back-end Engineer. This is a challenging role aimed at leading the travel industry, where you are expected to deliver services using cutting-edge technology to meet the diverse travel needs of today.

Responsibilities:
- Engage in backend system development using Java and Spring
- Handle a wide range of tasks: Architecture consideration, System design, Responding to user inquiries
- Collaborate with related teams 
- Manage large-scale traffic in production environments

- Expected to serve as a role model for junior engineers and contribute to the organization’s growth
- Development: Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Cloud Config, JUnit, Apache Maven, IntelliJ IDEA

1.Strong Java & Spring Backend Expertise:  8+ years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and operating large-scale Web APIs using Java + Spring Framework on Linux servers

2.High-Traffic, Large-Scale System Experience: Proven ability to design and operate backend systems that can handle very high transaction volumes (hundreds of reservations/sec, large-scale queries, peak load).

3.Database Design & Query Optimization Skills: Deep knowledge of RDBMS (Oracle) and NoSQL (MongoDB/Redis) with experience in table design, query optimization, and Elasticsearch integration.

4.Collaboration & Code Quality in Distributed Teams: Experience with Git-based version control (GitHub/Bitbucket) and pull request–driven workflows, plus strong communication/teamwork skills to collaborate with multiple Rakuten Group teams.
