PR/160243 | Quantity Surveying (QS) Manager - Based in Taiwan

Our client is a well-established international construction company with strong expertise in large-scale engineering and building projects across Asia. As part of their regional project expansion, they are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor (QS) Manager to be based in Taiwan to oversee project cost management and contract administration. 

This role will initially focus on establishing a cost control system for upcoming projects before leading the Quantity Surveying function for construction project delivery.

Job Responsibilities: -

•  Establish and implement an effective cost control system for construction projects
• Conduct feasibility studies to estimate materials, labour, equipment and project duration costs.
• Prepare ana manage cost estimates, cost plans and project budgets
• Lead the preparation, negotiation and evaluation of main contract agreements.
• Manage subcontractor and supplier tendering processes, including contract negotiations and cost analysis.
• Coordinate closely with the engineering and project teams to ensure cost effective project execution
• Monitor project expenditure and provide regular cost reporting and financial analysis.
• Evaluate completed work and prepare progress claims and payment certifications
• Manage variation orders, claims and contractual matters
• Provide advice on contractual risks, dispute resolution and cost management strategies 

• Lead and manage the Quantity Surveying team to ensure effective project cost management.

   

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Minimum 8 - 10 years of experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry  
• Proven experience in tendering, contract administration and project cost control
• Experience leading cost management for large-scale construction projects
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost estimation and procurement processes
• Fluent in English and Mandarin (main contract documentation in English, subcontractor coordination in Mandarin)
• Strong leadership, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
