Data Scientist

Role Overview

• Strengthen data analysis and AI solution development for large-scale e-commerce data.

• Solve business problems using machine learning, generative AI, and advanced analytics.

• Focus on fraud detection, including fraudulent payment detection.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers and business teams to identify problems that can be solved with data science.

• Define data requirements and plan effective data collection strategies.

• Apply statistics, machine learning, and generative AI to uncover insights from large datasets.

• Design and run experiments for AI solutions addressing business challenges.

• Continuously tune and improve models for higher accuracy and performance.

• Create clear, visual reports of analysis and experiment results.

• Present insights to stakeholders to support decision-making.

• Monitor solution performance and recommend improvements based on measurable outcomes.

• 3+ years of experience in data analysis and machine learning modeling.

• Strong knowledge of machine learning (including deep learning) and generative AI.

• Experience applying advanced analytical methods to business problems.

• Experience evaluating and tuning ML and generative AI models.

• Python programming experience with common data science libraries.

• Experience with SQL.

• Solid understanding of statistics.

• Strong communication and presentation skills.

• Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English.

• Experience developing AI solutions for fraud detection.

• Consulting experience.

• Experience building and operating data science services.

• Experience in the e-commerce industry.

• Knowledge of causal inference.

• Experience building machine learning platforms.
