Business System Analyst

• Collaborate with users and the project team to gather and clarify requirements and expectations

• Analyze business requirements and design data solutions that meet both functional and non-functional requirements

• Assess existing systems to identify original source data based on business needs

• Work with the Application Development team to implement data strategies and build data flows

• Provide guidance to System Analysts, Engineers, Programmers, and other stakeholders on project limitations, capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces

• Discover and analyze metadata from source databases, including value patterns and distributions, key candidates, foreign key candidates, and functional dependencies

• Design logical and physical data models

• Create design documentation, including Functional Requirements Documents (FRD)

• Prepare test cases and test data, and capture test evidence

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience

• 6–10 years of relevant experience in system development or a Business Systems Analyst role

• Proven experience managing and successfully implementing projects

• Demonstrated leadership and project management skills

Skills:

• Strong data and system analytics skills using various programming languages

• Solid knowledge of Oracle Database, MS SQL Server, MongoDB, Linux, and networking

• Strong understanding of data structures and data management with proven hands-on experience

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Extensive knowledge of the Hadoop ecosystem

• Experience working with evolving platforms and components such as Hive, HBase, Zeppelin, Spark, Livy, and Solr

• Understanding of REST APIs, microservices architecture, ETL processes, and Salesforce

• Hands-on experience with cloud services

• Knowledge of streaming data processing and change data capture (CDC)
