Company Overview
Our client is a premier regional distributor of consumer electronics and mobile communication devices. We partner with top-tier global technology brands to bridge the gap between manufacturers and the retail market. We pride ourselves on speed, precision, and operational excellence in a fast-moving industry. As they continue to drive growth and expansion, they are now seeking a Supply Chain Director to join their team and contribute to their ongoing success.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a robust supply chain strategy that supports the company’s aggressive growth targets across Singapore and the region. Drive cost optimization while maintaining high service levels for clients and suppliers.
Demand Planning & Inventory Control: Lead the S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) process. Collaborate with Sales and Product teams to forecast demand accurately, minimizing stock obsolescence (critical in electronics) while ensuring availability for product launches.
Logistics & Distribution Management: Oversee inbound and outbound logistics. Manage relationships with 3PLs, freight forwarders, and local transporters to ensure timely delivery to major retailers, e-commerce hubs, and B2B clients.
Vendor & Partner Management: Negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) with logistics providers to optimize freight rates and lead times. Maintain strong operational relationships with brand principals.
Reverse Logistics (RMA): Oversee the Returns Merchandise Authorization (RMA) process. Implement efficient systems for handling warranties, repairs, and returns, which is a high-volume aspect of the electronics business.
Process Improvement & Digitalization: Champion the use of ERP systems (e.g., SAP/Oracle) and WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) to improve data visibility and reporting accuracy. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce leakage and improve security.
Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure full compliance with import/export regulations, trade compliance, and safety standards. develop business continuity plans to mitigate supply chain disruptions.
Key Requirements
Experience: Minimum 10-15 years of supply chain experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Experience in the Consumer Electronics, Telecommunications, or FMCG distribution sector is highly preferred.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or Engineering. An MBA or professional certification (APICS/CIPS) is a plus.
Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of inventory management for high-value, fast-moving goods. Strong proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel/data analytics.
Regional Exposure: Proven experience managing cross-border logistics and operations within Southeast Asia.
Leadership: A transformational leader capable of managing diverse teams and influencing stakeholders at the C-level.
Attributes: High integrity, strategic thinker, adaptable to rapid market changes, and commercially astute.
