Company Overview 

Our client is an established MNC with business in manufacturing of palm oil related products. They are seeking an experienced Shipping Procurement Senior Executive or Assistant Manager to lead freight sourcing and procurement activities across multiple transport modes. This role is critical in ensuring cost efficiency, service reliability, and compliance with trade regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the sourcing, evaluation, and appointment of freight service providers, including shipping lines, airlines, and transporters.
• Drive freight procurement activities such as request for quotations, rate benchmarking, contract negotiations, and cost optimization initiatives.
• Develop and implement freight procurement strategies to achieve cost efficiency and service reliability.
• Manage freight contracts, pricing structures, and payment terms in line with business requirements.
• Monitor vendor performance against agreed KPIs and address gaps to maintain service standards.
• Maintain and analyze freight rate databases, procurement records, and cost reports to support decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable trade and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with the Shipping Manager and coordinate with Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain teams for shipment planning and booking.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Transport, Logistics, or Business Administration.
• 7–10 years of relevant experience in freight, shipping, or logistics.
  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound decision-making ability.
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Knowledge of SAP is an added advantage.
