About the Role: -

Our client is a well-established multinational company in the electrical power transmission and distribution sector, and they are seeking a highly experienced Design Manager to lead their Secondary Design & Protection Control team. This role requires strong technical expertise in medium-voltage protection, control systems, and substation secondary design, with proven experience managing engineering teams and multiple design projects.

Key Responsibilities: - 

• Lead and manage the Secondary Protection & Control design team, ensuring all MV designs meet industry standards and internal quality requirements.

• Oversee the preparation of design schematic drawings for utility, industrial, and overseas projects, including necessary design coordination.

• Provide technical guidance and engineering support to facilitate product localization and design enhancements.

• Offer site support services to internal and external stakeholders to resolve engineering or project-related issues.

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems related to protection/control schemes, product defects, or design challenges effectively and in a timely manner.

• Review, coach, and monitor the work of designers, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement.

• Perform general managerial functions, including:

• Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures

• Developing team skills and competencies through training and mentoring

• Managing resources and ensuring effective use of company assets

• Building strong internal and external working relationships

• Demonstrating strong leadership and serving as a role model

 Job Requirements

• Degree in Electrical (Power) Engineering or equivalent.

• 8–10 years of experience in secondary design, protection, and control systems.

• Strong technical expertise in medium-voltage protection and secondary design, including control and automation systems.

• Proven experience leading a design team and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Willingness to travel when required.
