About the Role: -

Our client is a well-established multinational company in the power transmission & distribution engineering sector is looking for a Senior Design Engineer with strong experience in secondary design, protection, and control systems. This role is ideal for candidates with a solid electrical power engineering background and experience supporting utility, industrial, and international substation projects.

Responsibilities: - 

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality secondary design work and supporting engineering teams across multiple projects. Key duties include:

• Execute schematic and wiring design for utility, private, and overseas electrical projects.

• Perform design coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

• Ensure design proposals comply with project scope, cost considerations, and technical specifications.

• Prepare and support design documentation for manufacturing, including:

1. Component database updates

2. Wiring diagrams

3. Punching guides

4. Instrument compartment layout

• Coordinate with suppliers on design interface requirements and technical applications.

• Study and propose improvements for design cost-effectiveness.

• Conduct design test simulations for new design schemes.

• Support troubleshooting activities during project execution.

• Evaluate first-batch implementation of new designs when required.

• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards and reporting procedures.

• Report any accident, near-miss, or unsafe condition to management and recommend improvements.

• Use all required personal protective equipment provided.

Job Requirements: - 

• Degree in Electrical (Power) Engineering or equivalent

• Minimum 5 years of experience in secondary design for power systems

• Strong technical knowledge in medium-voltage protection, control, and secondary design

• Good problem-solving ability and attention to technical detail

• Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with multiple project teams.

• Strong communication skill, problem solving and stakeholder management skills 

• Experience working with TNB/ utility requirements is a strong advantage
