Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, maintain and optimise server-side logic, APIs and database structures to support product features and business workflows.

• Integrate the front-end user-facing elements developed by the FE team with backend services.

• Ensure high performance, scalability, security, and reliability of backend applications and data systems.

• Build reusable code and libraries for future use; document backend services and maintain clean architecture.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, DevOps, FE engineers and QA to deliver new features and enhancements.

• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems, manage hosting environments, perform system testing and deploy releases.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

• Proven experience in backend development (3+ years) with languages/frameworks such as Java, Python, Go, Node.js, or .NET.

• Strong understanding of databases (relational and NoSQL), API design (RESTful/GraphQL), microservices architecture, and system performance optimization.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes), monitoring tools and CI/CD practices.

• Excellent debugging, problem-solving and communication skills; ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Experience in financial technology / payments industry is a plus.
