Bilingual Senior QA Engineer - USA Fintech Giant

A public-listed American Fintech company is looking to hire several key founding staff to be based in Tokyo, as a part of their exciting market entry into Japan. 

The Japanese-English bilingual Senior QA Engineer is responsible for ensuring the highest quality of mobile companion applications on both Android and iOS platforms. This position involves close collaboration with Android, iOS, and backend developers, as well as product and design teams, to plan, execute, and refine testing processes. The engineer will also devise creative methods to reproduce challenging customer issues in-house, helping enhance overall user satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement comprehensive QA strategies for Android and iOS mobile applications.
• Drive and maintain the quality standards of all mobile companion apps.
• Partner with cross-functional teams—development, product, and design—to design and execute effective test plans.
• Create innovative testing approaches and tools to expand test coverage and improve efficiency.
• Build, enhance, and maintain automation frameworks and scripts.
• Investigate, reproduce, and assist in resolving complex customer-reported issues to improve app reliability and user experience.

Requirements:
• Fluent English and Fluent Japanese communication skills (written and spoken) to effectively engage with business and technical stakeholders.
• Experience in testing Mobile App Software QA deployed to the Apple and Google App stores.
• Demonstrated ability to build test plans, define testing strategies, and identify high-risk areas.
• Experience with UI Automator, Selenium, Cypress, Appium, or other UI automation frameworks.
• Experience with Continuous Integration process and tools (e.g., Github, Jira, Jenkins).

Good to Have Experience:
• Testing Mobile App Software QA deployed to the Apple and Google App stores.
• Build test plans, define testing strategies, and identify high-risk areas.
• Experience in the payments industry is highly valuable.
