Skills:

• Strong knowledge of automotive painting processes (electro-deposition, powder coating, spray painting, etc.)
• Familiar with robotics/automation in paint applications
• Ability to analyze paint defects and implement corrective actions
• Manpower handling and team leadership skills
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing, TPM, and Kaizen practices
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, monitor, and control paint shop operations to achieve production targets.
• Ensure paint quality standards (appearance, durability, thickness, and finish) are consistently met.
• Drive continuous improvement projects for productivity, cost reduction, and quality enhancement.
• Analyze paint defects and coordinate with cross-functional teams for root cause analysis and resolution.
• Implement and monitor safety protocols, ISO standards, and environmental compliance in paint shop.
• Manage manpower allocation, skill development, and shift schedules effectively.
• Ensure preventive and breakdown maintenance of paint shop equipment in coordination with the maintenance team.
• Prepare reports on production, quality, and resource utilization for management review.
• Coordinate with vendors/suppliers for paint material quality and consumption optimization.

Knowledge

• Paint shop processes, equipment, and materials
• Surface preparation, pretreatment, and curing techniques
• Quality control methods and standards (5S, Six Sigma, SPC, etc.)
• Industry safety and environmental regulations
