Job Title: Accounting Manager
Location: Singapore - Central
Your New Company
My client is a leading biotech company specializing in regenerative medicine and advanced cell-based therapies. They are currently expanding their footprint in Asia and setting up a brand-new facility in Singapore to support regional operations and scientific innovation. This new site will play a key role in processing and preserving therapeutic cells used in cutting-edge medical treatments. It’s an exciting time to join a mission-driven team that’s shaping the future of healthcare.
Your New Role
Establish the accounting framework and internal controls for the Singapore office, ensuring compliance with local regulations and alignment with group policies.
Coordinate with and provide guidance to the appointed local accounting firm for outsourced accounting and tax filings, including GST and corporate tax matters.
Lead and manage the financial audit process, including preparation of audit documentation and liaison with external auditors.
Oversee the budgeting process for the Singapore office, including planning, monitoring, and variance analysis to support operational efficiency.
Prepare and present financial reports to the CEO and CFO of the Singapore office, offering insights to support strategic decision-making.
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to the Japan headquarters, including intercompany transactions and group consolidation requirements.
Key Qualifications for Success
At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a regional or standalone office setup.
Chartered Accountant (CA Singapore) or internationally recognized certifications such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or CMA.
Proven ability to build and implement accounting systems and processes from the ground up.
Hands-on experience in full-spectrum accounting, including budgeting, reporting, and audit coordination.
Strong communication skills with the ability to manage and collaborate effectively with external accounting firms.
Experience working in the accounting function of a Japanese company is a strong advantage.
Background in the life sciences, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology industry is highly preferred.
