Android Software Test Engineer

About the Role:
We are looking for skilled and detail-oriented Android Software Test Engineers to join our Test Team in Tokyo. This is a critical role supporting software testing for the Japan market. You will work on validating system and third-party applications across a range of Android devices, ensuring high quality and seamless user experiences.
Fluency in Japanese and the ability to communicate effectively in English is a must.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive software testing for Android-based mobile and connected devices, focusing on the Japanese market.
• Conduct application testing including functional, usability, and performance testing.
• Execute Interop/BT/Wi-Fi/NTN tests to ensure seamless connectivity and interoperability.
• Test 3rd party applications across various Android platforms.
• Validate features like Google Maps, Google Pay, and conduct basic modem testing.
• Work closely with development teams, QA engineers, and other stakeholders to identify and resolve software issues.
• Report, track, and manage bugs through internal bug tracking systems.
• Provide test execution reports and feedback for continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Fluent in Japanese (reading, writing, speaking) – essential for local market testing.
• Proficient in English for team communication and reporting.
• Proven experience in mobile app testing or software QA, particularly on Android.
• Hands-on experience with:
• Bluetooth (BT), Wi-Fi, Interop, and NTN testing
• 3rd party app validation
• Features like Maps, Google Pay, and basic modem functionalities
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of software testing tools and bug tracking systems (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in cross-functional, multicultural teams.
• Prior experience testing Android apps for the Japanese market.
