An audit/tax company is seeking a Tax Specialist to oversee a portfolio of clients and lead a team in delivering top-tier tax advisory and compliance services. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong interest in tax research, staying current with legislative changes, and offering expert technical guidance to both clients and internal team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES

• Manage a portfolio of clients and lead teams in delivering tax services, including corporate tax planning, audits, and investigations.

• Monitor and interpret changes in direct and indirect tax laws (e.g., Income Tax, SST), and prepare technical updates and articles for internal and external stakeholders.

• Assist in developing presentation materials for tax webinars and training sessions on topics such as corporate tax, RPGT, transfer pricing, and SST.

• Provide detailed technical advice on complex tax issues to staff and clients.

• Liaise with the Inland Revenue Board and Royal Malaysian Customs Department to resolve tax matters.

• Support business development efforts through technical input and client engagement.

• Undertake additional responsibilities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the tax department.

   

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with a focus on Taxation, or possesses a recognized professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA Australia, CTIM, ICAEW, or equivalent.

• Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in taxation, ideally within a public accounting firm or corporate tax environment.

• Demonstrated ability to perform in-depth tax research and analysis.

• Strong technical expertise across various areas of tax advisory.

• Capable of setting clear objectives and guiding the team effectively.

• Skilled in mentoring and developing team members.
  Proficient in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin.

• Mandarin proficiency is essential for effective communication with Mandarin-speaking clients.
