Assistant Civil Draftsman
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Civil Draftsman to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience in civil engineering drafting and design, with a strong understanding of construction methodologies, engineering principles, and industry standards. The Civil Draftsman will be responsible for creating accurate and detailed technical drawings and plans for civil engineering projects, including roads, bridges, drainage systems, and other infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Drafting and Design:
Prepare detailed technical drawings and plans using computer-aided design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Revit.
Develop and review civil engineering plans, profiles, cross-sections, and detailed drawings for construction projects.
Ensure all drawings comply with local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
Collaboration:
Work closely with civil engineers, architects, and other team members to develop and refine design concepts.
Participate in project meetings to discuss design requirements, modifications, and progress.
Coordinate with construction teams to ensure accurate implementation of designs.
Documentation:
Maintain and organize project files, including all drawings, specifications, and revisions.
Prepare and update project documentation, such as bill of quantities (BOQ), material lists, and construction schedules.
Site Visits:
Conduct site visits to gather data and measurements for project designs.
Inspect completed projects to ensure they meet design specifications and quality standards.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Drafting, or a related field.
Relevant certifications in drafting or CAD software are a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as a civil draftsman in the construction industry.
Proven experience with CAD software and other drafting tools.
