Designer - Footwear

This role is essential in bridging the gap between design innovation and client needs, contributing to the development of cutting-edge footwear designs for various applications. The ideal candidate will work closely with clients, distributors, and the brand's global product development teams to craft unique solutions that showcase our expertise.

Our client is a fast growing footwear brand that has close relationships with many outdoor and fashion brands across the world. They are a major player in the footwear industry in the EU, China, and US, and are now planning to expand in Japan.

Description

• Partner with the sales team to manage all discussions related to footwear designs, working directly with clients in Japan or through distributors.
• Participate in client meetings (in-person and virtual) to understand requirements and deliver inspired solutions.
• Interpret design briefs to create footwear concepts that balance creativity and technical feasibility.
• Work with industrialization teams in EU and China to ensure design feasibility and alignment with existing or emerging technologies.

• Professional experience as a designer, preferably in footwear or related industries.
• A deep interest in shoes, outdoor activities, and technical components such as Gore-Tex and YKK.
• Strong proficiency in design software (e.g., CAD, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.).
• NATIVE level Japanese and Business level English.
