Head - Compound development

【Main Purpose of Job (Why job exists/what it must achieve)】
This position is global position , will be responsible for compound development function located within APMEA R&D, for different product categories include TBR,PCR,OHT, TBB,TW, Aircraft  to meet/exceed the needs of the customer (OEMs as well as replacement market) spread across different continents based on the product/market requirement.

APMEA(アジアパシフィック・中東・アフリカ)R&D(チェンナイ)内にあって、全世界の市場に対しコンパウンド開発の責任を負う。TBR, PCR, OHT, TBB, TW, 航空機等の全ての商品を対象とし、OEMおよび補修用タイヤの両方に責任を負う。

【Main Responsibilities / Job Summary】
(Primary deliverables of role and its scope)

• Initiate discussions with different Product Development Heads to capture market expectations and develop strategy and prioritise compound development with agreed performance targets and time and update compound development roadmap 
• Lead and guide compound development team for developing new compounds for different categories like; TBR, TBB, PCR, OHT, 2W, Tube, reread etc. 
• Closely coordinate with RM team with new materials for performance and cost 
• Bring innovation in compound development to support VAVE 
• Interface with Customer service and Product teams and gain competitive intelligence of products and benchmarking 
• Drive specific programs with Universities and research organizations for application research and develop Intellectual property and technology absorption  
• Take cognizance of compliances and regulatory requirements and implement suitable compounds 
• Coordinate with process teams for improving processability of compounds 
• Closely work with Compound and materials team off EU and bring synergy

Qualifications.  
Compounder /Material technologist, preferably PhD in Rubber Technology/Chemical engg  with experience and background in material research and development in tyre industries with international experience 

Experience: Desirable 
18-20 years Exposure in tyre manufacturing companies in the functions of R&D / compounding.
