Tedako Child Development Center (CDC)

The CDC opened on OIST campus in 2013 with the goal of developing an educational environment for the children of all OIST staff and students. The CDC provides high-quality childcare and early childhood education for children aged 0-6 years old in a bilingual (English and Japanese) environment.

Our Bi-Lingual Environment

Currently, the CDC holds about 160 children aged 0-6 years old who come from countries all over the world. To support the diverse needs of the children being raised in Japan, our language instruction at the CDC is a Bi-lingual (English and Japanese) Partial Immersion program. Daily activities are divided into morning and afternoon sessions, and the language used for teaching and learning is switched between Japanese and English to support the efficient acquisition of both languages. Each classroom with children over the age of 1 has one lead English teacher and one lead Japanese teacher. Lead teachers only interact with the children in one language and additional aide teachers are assigned to the classroom depending on classroom ratios.

Responsibilities

Classroom staff members structure the childcare environment to support the development of happy, healthy, compassionate, and socially confident children who are prepared to successfully face challenges beyond the security of the CDC through a variety of experiences and inter-active activities. In addition, they will communicate with parents, conduct developmental assessments, create childcare plans, and provide childcare that values each and every child's individual needs.

Main Activities include:

• Free play, outdoor play
• Sensory play, arts and craft
•  Meal, toilet support, diaper changing, sanitation, and naptime

てだこチャイルド・デベロップメント・センター（CDC）について
CDCは、すべてのＯIST職員と学生の子どもたちの教育環境開発を目指し、2013年にＯISTキャンパス内に開園しました。CDCは、世界中から集まった職員と学生により構成されるOSITコミュニティ独自の保育・教育ニーズに応えるため、0〜6歳の子ども向けの質の高い保育および幼児教育を日英バイリンガル（英語と日本語）にて提供しています。

教育プログラムについて
現在、CDCには、世界各国から集まった0~6歳の園児が約160名在籍しています。言語および文化的に多様性に富んだ環境の中、CDCでは設立当初から現在に至るまで一貫して二言語同時学習イマ―ジョンと呼ばれる教育プログラムを採用しており、日々の活動を午前と午後に分け、教育・学習に用いる言語を日本語と英語で切り替えることで園児の日英両言語の効率的な習得を支援しています。各クラスには、日本語および英語専門のスタッフが配属され、それぞれが担当している言語のみを用いて園児と関ります。

職責

クラスルームスタッフは園児が様々な体験やインターアクティブな活動を通じ、社会性、感受性、認知力を身に付け、成長できるように保育環境の構成と援助を行います。また、保護者とのコミュニケーションをとりながら、発達評価、保育計画の作成などを行い、園児一人一人を大切にした保育を行います。

主な活動：

• サークルタイム（お集まり）
• 自由遊び、屋外遊び
• 制作などの設定保育
• 食事、排泄、衛生、午睡

(Required)

1. Experience or qualification in early childhood education/care (e.g., nursery teacher, kindergarten teacher, or nurse)
2. Native level English with high level communication skills
3. Appropriate behavior management skills

1. 幼児教育の分野で学士号または準学士号を取得していること
2. インターナショナルプリスクール環境でのマイクロソフト（ワード、エクセル、パワーポイント）の使用経験を含む勤務を5年以上経験している
3. 日本語と英語のコミュニケーション能力が高いこと
4. 教員免許（国問わず）、または教員免許取得の意欲があること
5. 日本の運転免許証

(Preferred)

1. Experience in the design of curricula for nursery & preschools
2. Leadership experience in a teaching environment
3. CPR/ First Aid Certification

1. 幼児教育または保育の経験、または資格保有者(保育士、幼稚園教諭、または看護師など)
2. 高い日本語力および高いコミュニケーション能力
3. 日常会話レベルの英語力（英検二級相当）※
4. 適切な行動管理能力

（※）日本語担当の先生を募集しておりますが、保護者の中には英語でしかコミュニケーションが取れない方もいるため、登園・送迎時に簡単な報連相ができる英語力が求められます。そのため、面接は英語と日本語の両言語で行われます。
