Data Modeler - Global Financial Firm

Randstad Japan is partnered with with one of the largest Financial Service firms globally to help them identify highly-skilled Data Modelers with passion for Enterprise Architecture, Data Governance, and Management. Through this role you will have the opportunity to work in an international team of brilliant Architects, and Modelers and contribute to the development of the firm's data management platform, data governance framework, and big data future.

The successful candidate will be responsible for updating, expanding, of existing data models, as well creating new models for the company, and contribute to the data governance program of one of the largest financial ecosystems in Japan.

Even though our client is one of the largest financial groups in Japan and globally, they have adopted a flexible WFH style, following the new standards. You will be evaluated based on your outputs, and not based on how long you spend in the office.

Responsibilities

• Understand current database system with business operation demands and technical capability
• Develop data models and related designs, from the data architecture concept, logical, to physical data models for application database
• Develop, support, or review physical data model design
• Provide technical documentations for knowledge transform, technical training, coaching for project stakeholders
• Liaise with Key Stakeholders for critical decisions

Must-have

• (Enterprise) Data Modeling at different levels – conceptual, logical & physical
• Experience using Data Modeling tools such as Erwin, PowerDesigner or the like
• Work with Ops Stakeholders and Business SMEs to elicit requirements and document/communicate findings and deliverables
• Data Profiling, Analysis and Classification according to sensitivity criteria
• Experience with cloud collaboration tools such as Confluence, Jira, Miro
• Ability (or at least inclination) to write SQL queries as well as do some Python coding if needed
• Some knowledge on data platform architecture topics related to ODS / Data Marts, e.g. Data Mesh, Data Vault etc.
• Some experience with Snowflake RDBMS

Good-to-have

• Data Governance Knowledge (about various Roles and Responsibilities such as Data Owner, Data Steward etc.)
• Knowledge about Enterprise Architecture Frameworks, e.g. TOGAF
• Data Warehousing Knowledge / Experience (ETL/ELT, Source-Target-Mapping, etc.)
• Banking / Finance experience
• Experience with Data Catalog / Enterprise Data Glossary tools such as Alation, Informatica Axon
