Manager, Sustainability Impact and Value Creation

Since Takeda’s founding in 1781, creating value for society has been an important priority for the company. Today, we have several programs that contribute to a sustainable society while strengthening our reputation. This approach helps to create trust with our many stakeholders while taking into account the long-term viability of our business. Increasingly, investors around the world are recognizing that companies who place an emphasis on purpose-led sustainability deliver better value in the long term, show better resilience, attract better talent, present fewer legal risks and deliver long-term success. This role will help further Takeda’s Purpose-led Sustainability strategy to:

Focus our core assets and capabilities on solving important societal challenges

Operate in a way that respects stakeholders’ needs and expectations

Enhance the long-term value and performance of Takeda

ACCOUNTABILITIES:  

• Provide insights and data around sustainability innovations, new ideas and best practices partnering with external experts in the field to Takeda Executive Team (TET) organizations to support the business operations

• Partner with CSD and SMEs in all TETs organizations to define processes to collect ESG related data and ensure data assurance

• Collaborate with CSD and other stakeholders to monitor and update the sustainability matrices and manage the dashboard once launched internally

• Act as an ambassador for sustainability, drive awareness among employees, and be a great hub within a global sustainability network where it could be Tokyo-embedded to move from “good” to “great” in the area of sustainability

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: 

• Bachelor’s (or Graduate preferred) degree in Sciences,  Business, Sustainability, or other relevant areas .

• 8-10 years in business operations, pharmaceutical industry experience a plus

• Strong leadership skills – big picture thinking, focusing on the few key priorities, creating an inclusive environment in which people can thrive, and developing the organization for the future

• Strategic/enterprise mindset; capable of creating and articulating a vision

• Project management experience

• Ability to lead multiple projects under tight and competing deadlines

• Excellent team player

• Fluency in Japanese and  English

Allowances: Commutation, Housing, Overtime Work etc.
Salary Increase: Annually
Bonus Payment: Twice a year
Working Hours: Headquarters (Osaka/ Tokyo) 9:00-17:30, Production Sites (Osaka/ Yamaguchi) 8:00-16:45, Research Site (Kanagawa) 9:00-17:45
Holidays: Saturdays, Sundays, National Holidays, May Day, Year-End Holidays etc. (approx. 123 days in a year)
