Report to:  Marketing Manager (English/French/Japanese)
Brands to be in charge: The Glenlivet, Aberlour & Secret Speyside Collection

Salary:  Total 7M to 8M (固定・変動賞与含む) 但し経験考慮の上、応相談

Job Purpose: 
Win in the market and gain value market share for a brand, underpinned by strong brand equity growth and new consumer recruitment

Principle Accountabilities:

Brand Strategy and Planning (Current Fiscal Year Strategy has been developed & approved)

  • Define objective and best allocate resources via conducting touchpoint planning to meet business & consumer challenges for both short and mid-long term
    ➢ Business Environment Understanding (Category Trend & Competitor Intelligence)
    ➢ Consumer / Shopper Insight
    ➢ Brand understanding & Portfolio management
    ➢ Commercial strategy and Customer understanding
    ➢ Put together presentation for annual brand plan and mid-year business review
    ➢ Interaction with Brand Company (communicate with Brand Company Portfolio Activation Team)

Activation planning and implementation

  • Strengthen equity, momentum and image of the brand via Digital/Social Media, PR/Publicity, Digital Activation, Brand Experience (incl. online seminars), New Product Launch/Restages and ATL in Traditional Media
  • Translate equity driving initiatives into L3F activation for commercial harvest via collaborating with Trade Marketing and Sales team

Project Management

  • Collaborate cross functionally to drive projects on time, on budget & on brand
  • Lead FY22 main digital activation collaborating with a famous Influencer, across multiple online platforms (SNS, owned brand website & online membership site etc.) to deliver the new brand message
  • Manage brand’s A&P in relation to its financial position of the brand/company
  • Supervise local Agency handling for the best creativity and value for money

New Brand Introduction

  • Write compelling Business Case with clear business and consumer rationale with appropriate pricing and timing that fits with customer business cycle
  • Lead practical steps to import, launch and support it as the owner of a project via obtaining help from other functions
  • Prepare Trade Announcement/Press Release/Sales Presenter that best encapsulate key selling points
  • Put together needed assets (Logos, Packshots, mood/beauty shots, etc.)

Team Management

  • Closely work with the Assistant Brand Manager (subordinate) to further develop and enhance her marketing skills
  • Support the line Manager on various Brand activities related to the Scotch Whisky Portfolio

Others

  • Ability to Manage Administrative Tasks
    ➢ Purchase order issuing, Payment process, Registration of a new SKU, a Supplier, a POS item, etc. plus product specification, CoP (Certificate of Product) and back labeling
     
  • Quality issue/Consumer & Customer Complaint
    ➢ Ability to handle quality issues & Consumer /Customer complaint with Consumer Support team
     
  • Financial and Legal Acumen/Contract/S&R (Sustainability and Responsibility)
    ➢ Be aware of Code for commercial communication, various legal matters (such as Non-Disclosure Agreement, Basic Framework Agreement, etc.)

  • Pernod Ricard is the co-leader of premium Wine and Spirits industry globally, and Pernod Ricard Japan K.K. (PRJ) is a company founded in 1990 in Tokyo, Japan, as a wholly owned subsidiary of Pernod Ricard Asia S.A.
  • Today, PRJ distributes approx. 30 international wine & spirits brands pan-Japan, covering Off-Trade, eCommerce & On-Trade markets
  • Single Malt Scotch Whisky category in Japan has enjoyed steady growth over the last number of years, and PRJ mainly distributes THE GLENLIVET, which just reached No.2 position in the category, next to The McCallan, followed by Glenfiddich
  • THE GLENLIVET is a Key Growth Relay Brand for PRJ and has the potential to become a key value contributor to the company
  • This fiscal year (FY22, covering 1st July 2021 to 30th June 2022) is unlike any other year for THE GLENLIVET, because Total A&P (Advertising & Promotion) investment behind the brand is doubled vs previous year to accelerate its growth. Key initiatives are:
    ➢ Drive brand awareness, via reaching and engaging with Malt Apprentices through strong digital activation collaborating with a famous Influencer and smart localization of global key visual assets
    ➢ Drive listing, rotation & saliency in the Off-trade and On-Trade, as well as eCommerce
    ➢ Launching VAPs (Value Added Packs) and Limited Editions, including an eCommerce exclusive product
    ➢ Attack Ultra Premium & Prestige segment, which occupies nearly a half of market value of Single Malt Scotch with a lot of NPDs and Restages
    ➢ Further building bartender & Consumer Advocacy with Mentoring and advanced online CRM program

Academic Requirement:
A degree at a bachelor’s level

Professional Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience on client side is desirable for Consumer Brand Management at a global company (luxury, lifestyle brand, FMCG, etc)
  • Digitally savvy
  • Interest in Wine & Spirits, Food is a plus

Language:
Both English & Japanese (strong business proficiency in written and verbal communication) are required
